The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. The NSS aims to foster social awareness among students and contribute to their all-around personality development. The NSS unit of this college conducts regular and special camps, awareness classes, demonstrations, personality development programs, and more for its volunteers. One notable activity is organizing blood donations for the underprivileged and those in need. The college's NSS Unit 330 comprises 50 volunteers, who are eligible for benefits in accordance with the University's rules for NSS volunteers. The NSS strives to establish meaningful connections between 'Campus and Community,' 'College and Village,' and 'Knowledge and Action.'
NSS Logo
The symbol of NSS draws inspiration from the iconic Rath Wheel of the Konark Sun Temple in Orissa, India. This wheel symbolizes the cycle of creation, preservation, and liberation, reflecting life's continual evolution. It embodies NSS's commitment to both continuity and change, representing its ongoing endeavor for social transformation.
Motto
The motto or watchword of the National Service Scheme is: ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’
This reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other person’s point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society on the whole. Therefore, it should be the aim of the NSS to demonstrate this motto in its day programme.
