In September 1986 , under the scheme created by the Govt. of Kerala in 1984 with the two objectives of providing employment to academics and making it important for those who want higher education , established Mannarkkad co-operative education society Ltd. NO:- P906 as per the rules of Kerala co-operative society . During the period of 2008-2010 , self-financing colleges were emerging in  Kerala. The formed Educational society and the staffs , management member under the leadership of present Chairman decided to start an Affiliated College.

In June 2015 , Universal College of Arts and Science started function under the affiliation of University of Calicut . Eminent teacher Dr. T John Mathew , who worked as the head of the Department of Commerce , Govt.Victoria, College Palakkad and Govt .College Chittur, Palakkad for a long time , took charge as the principal of the institution and still continues. We gratefully recall the valuable services rendered to this institution by Prof. Venugopal, Retd Head of the Department of Commerce N.S.S College Manjeri and Prof. Nazeem Retd Head of the Department of Malayalam M.E.S College , Mannarkkad.

Thus in 2015 Universal College of Arts and Science was started with 12 teachers and 86 students and by 2023, it has mind to the top of the ladder of success having about 1000 students and 50 teaching and non-teaching staff.
